Account takeover

OTP / SIM swap

A caller posing as a bank or courier asks for an OTP, then drains UPI, wallets, or linked cards.

How Scam Works?

This conversation is invented. It shows the pattern so you can recognise it. It is not a real message, and nothing here should be replied to or paid.

Phone call

Caller ID spoofed as a courier brand

  1. Scam message

Your parcel is held. I have sent an OTP to confirm the address. Read it to me.

  2. What you might say

The SMS says it is for a UPI payment.

  3. Scam message

That is normal for address check. Tell me the six digits before it expires.

No bank, courier, or wallet will ever ask you to read an OTP aloud.
