Online Financial Fraud

Debit/Credit Card Fraud/Sim Swap Fraud

Your card is charged without you, or your SIM stops working so someone else gets your bank codes.

Warning signs

  1. Your phone suddenly has no network, and you did not change your SIM.

  2. Bank or card SMS stop arriving.

  3. You see a card payment you did not make.

  4. A caller asks you to read out a code, or a shop asks for your Aadhaar and an OTP to “update” the SIM.

No bank or phone company will ask you to read an OTP aloud. Your SIM does not need a stranger’s help to stay active.
