Phishing

Fake bank / telecom care

Pop-ups and missed-call numbers send people to spoofed bank or telecom pages that steal credentials.

Warning signs

  1. 01

A browser pop-up or missed call says your bank or SIM will be blocked today.

  2. 02

The number is not the one on your card, bill, or the company’s own app.

  3. 03

The page asks for net-banking password, card PIN, or OTP.

  4. 04

The address bar is a misspelling of the real bank or telecom site.

  5. 05

They offer to “fix it live” if you stay on the call and share the screen.

Customer care reached from a pop-up or a missed call is not your bank.
